contentnext identity materials

kicking off a new year for contentnext with a complete media kit and investment prospectus. these guys are growing and expanding their popular events and publications, so i put them into a clean format of the over-arching corporate identity that ties together their individual media outlets, tells their story and outlines editorial and event goals for the coming years. the first is a media kit for advertising in online blogs, newsletters and sponsoring events, followed by an investment prospectus to gain funding for growth into future endeavours. together with letterhead and stationery, they have a very recognizable identity that rolls out to most any print or online format, and umbrellas over sub-brands nicely.

being in la services brochure

super-cute los feliz boutique and wellness center, being in la has a full menu of services, headed up by the extensively knowledgeable jenette serrins. what i really liked about this job was getting to know the business owners, their philosophy and approach to beauty and wellness. they’ve got a new yoga student [me] out of the deal, too!

future of business media conference

contentnext’s fall conference, the future of business media, examines the future of business and trade industry with all the changes brought by digital media. another full day of panel discussions populated by industry leaders and exclusive networking opportunities—i love projects like this because they’re full of great offerings that make the design a natural extension of the brand. and check the graphics projected on the wall during the kickoff party!

gretchen parlato, album review

for those of you who speak & read italian, all about jazz has just reviewed my sister’s self-titled album [i helped by doing all the packaging—ha ha].

i am always surprised to see how well this album doing for an independent release. nearly 3 years after its debut, gretchen parlato is still a top seller in the jazz category at cdbaby.com [as of the date of this post], and still garners reviews internationally.

the economics of social media conference

i just did the collateral for EconSM, a conference put on by contentnext that focuses on business deals in the social media ecosystem. for the first in an annual series, we kept the look fresh and clean with a simple color palette. this event was filled to capacity and a rousing success, so i’m already planning out next year’s revamp.

trepan 5: monstrous

trepan cultivates mutation in forms and styles of reading and writing, discarding traditional barriers between genres and forms, seeking out unexpected openings, and creating them where necessary.

it took us awhile, but better late than even later. a literary journal like trepan demands a clean, reader-friendly layout that’s easy on the eyes. we made it highly readable with a spin on a lost-era letterpress pharmaceutical manual to make it endearing.

copies are still available at trepan.org

earthLink municipal networks exhibit booth

earthlink’s new booth is here! the municipal networks division works with cities around the country to partner in offering wifi services. this booth backdrop and set of banners provide a lively exhibit space that illustrate the connectivity of municipal wifi.

la-lit logo

la-lit interviews poets and writers in the los angeles area, and records them for podcast [available on itunes]. i recently created this set of logos and color palette for them for use on their web site and identity materials, which has spun off into a very cute stationery setup.

jon reiss: bomb it! proposal book

bomb it is the explosive new documentary from award-winning director jon reiss investigating the most subversive and controversial art form currently shaping international youth culture: graffiti.

just finished this full-color 40-page book for jon reiss’ bomb it! project. this prospectus-style promo book details production schedule, budget, market strategy, production crew and selected artist bios for use in gaining financial backing on the project. this was a joint project with h-bomb design.
